SEO/SEM Specialist

Job Description

As a SEO/SEM Specialist you will be responsible for supporting the digital marketing team in optimizing organic and paid search campaigns to deliver results. You will support the team in all aspects of organic and paid search from keyword research, campaign setup, ongoing optimization and on-page organic optimization. You will work closely with the digital marketing team and have an opportunity to learn new channels and interface directly with clients.

This is a fast-paced and high-energy job that is highly collaborative, so enjoying teamwork and embracing the ever-changing nature of digital marketing in a growing agency setting will be crucial.

Responsibilities

SEO

  • Keyword research and analysis
  • On-page optimization (title, meta description, URL slug, H1, etc.)
  • Analyze competitor websites for optimization & strategy purposes
  • Track keywords to forecast opportunities
  • Research and implement search engine optimization recommendations
  • Work with editorial teams to drive SEO in content creation and editorial planning
  • Technical SEO audits and analysis to identify potential barriers to organic search visibility
  • Conversion tracking set up
  • Monthly performance reporting

Paid Search

  • Keyword research and analysis
  • Google Ad and Bing Ad campaign setup
  • Ad copywriting
  • Campaign management and optimization (e.g., keyword analysis and management, bidding strategies, quality score insurance and ad copy updates)
  • Budget management and optimization
  • Competitor research and analysis
  • Conversion tracking set up
  • Monthly performance reporting

Requirements

  • 2-3 years digital marketing experience
  • 1+ years of experience using SEO tools such as MOZ, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, etc.
  • 1+ years of experience with Google Ads
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Suite: Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; the ability to understand and use data to make decisions
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills, including time-tracking
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

  • An understanding of AP style
  • Experience using MOZ or SEMrush
  • Experience managing content within CMS platforms like WordPress, Craft, or Drupal
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and any programming languages
  • Experience working in an agency environment
