Healthcare Marketing Conferences 2022

By Paul Peterson

If you work in medical marketing, you understand how crucial it is to stay up to date on the latest shifts in compliance standards and best practices. What better way to do this than by attending a conference, where you can devote concentrated time to exploring healthcare advertising trends and making new connections?

Here are six key healthcare marketing conferences to consider attending in 2024 so you can stay ahead of the curve and future-proof your institution’s approach.

1. Healthcare Marketing & Physician Strategies Summit (HMPS)

April 17–19 | Las Vegas

Now in its 29th year, HMPS convenes healthcare marketing and physician relations executives from academic medical centers, health systems and hospitals. During the summit’s concurrent sessions, choose from such tracks as strategic marketing, data strategies and interactive and digital strategies. Plenary sessions will tackle generative AI and engagement in the digital age.

Highlight: Featured 2024 presentations include improving the healthcare customer experience and care journey, keeping up with new technologies and digital platforms, and responding to nontraditional competitors.

2. National Association of Cancer Center Development Officers and Public Affairs & Marketing Conference (NACCDO-PAMN)

May 20–23 | Salt Lake City

This annual joint conference provides an opportunity for development officers, public affairs specialists and marketers in this highly specialized field to come together to share knowledge, ideas, inspiration and best practices.

Highlight: NACCDO is an approved Certified Fund Raising Executive education provider, and most conference sessions count towards continuing education requirements.

3. Digital Healthcare Innovation Summit (DHIS)

June 5-6 | Boston

Attendees at DHIS range from healthcare investors to startups to providers, and the event takes a tight focus on driving healthcare innovation and digital health.

Highlight: Topics for the East Coast summit in Boston include the future of direct-to-consumer healthcare, healthcare for underserved populations, and the influence of Big Tech on the industry.

4. Patient Experience Symposium

September 16–18 | Boston

This unique conference brings together senior-level healthcare professionals from across the healthcare spectrum with a singular goal in mind: to improve patient experience. The agenda includes programming tailored specifically for executives, administrators, IT experts, clinical trial operators and physician and nurse leaders.

Highlight: Past conferences featured sessions from Cedars Sinai Medical Center on using real-time engagement to enhance the patient experience and other advances in medical technology.

5. Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development Connections (SHSMD)

October 13–15 | Denver

Arguably the industry’s leading conference, SHSMD Connections offers networking opportunities and expert perspectives on everything from marketing and public relations to strategic planning and business development. Attendees include more than 1,600 strategists from a wide range of hospitals and health systems, including academic medical centers, rural hospitals and children’s hospitals.

Highlight: Sessions will cover a wide range of topics, from emerging technologies to data privacy to workforce recruitment and retention.

6. Healthcare Internet Conference (HCIC) (HCIC)

November 10–13 | Austin

Conferences like HCIC equip marketers to lead their organizations’ digital strategies and communicate the value of their efforts. Event participants can look forward to learning from case studies, meeting industry decision makers and networking with other healthcare professionals.

Highlight: Registration for HCIC’s 2024 conference opens June 3. In the meantime, you can also tune into on-demand webinars for insights on the patient journey, branding and digital strategic planning.
